Meet the instructors

Santa
Vinyasa & Restorative

Santa began practicing yoga in the summer of 2018 at Highland Yoga Studio in Atlanta, where hot power vinyasa quickly became a foundation of her personal practice. In the spring of 2023, Santa completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Highland Yoga, deepening her understanding of vinyasa flow and its philosophical and anatomical principles

Since completing training, Santa has taught voluntarily at Pure Gym Spa Yoga during her stay in Granada, Nicaragua, sharing yoga within a community-focused and accessible environment. Continuing her education, Santa completed a 30-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training in spring 2024 with Taryn Diamond Yoga, hosted by Union Yoga & Pilates in Toronto, followed by a 40-hour Mat Pilates Teacher Training with Mosaic Yoga in Toronto in spring 2025.

In November 2025, Santa opened her own yoga studio on Xalteva Street in Granada, Nicaragua, where she has been teaching almost daily. Santa offers all-levels vinyasa flow classes as well as deep flow and restorative sessions, with an emphasis on mindful transitions, sustainable strength, and accessible options for every body.

Warren
Vinyasa & Hatha

Warren is the founder of PURE Gym · Spa · Yoga in Granada, where he taught yoga and shaped community-centered programming for 17 years until the studio’s closure in 2025.

After graduating from Duke University, Warren moved to Nicaragua, beginning his path as a yoga teacher and personal trainer while helping build accessible wellness spaces in Granada.

He completed both 200-hour and 500-hour yoga teacher trainings in Rishikesh and Dharamsala, India, deepening a teaching style rooted in consistency, accessibility, and community.

Warren currently teaches one weekly class at Yoga in Granada, shaping a teaching style that blends modern vinyasa flow with traditional yoga practices from India.

He continues to contribute to the local and international yoga community through classes, retreats, and collaborative initiatives—always grounded in accessibility, consistency, and community.

Cristiana
Hatha

Cristiana is a yoga teacher trained in the tradition of Kashmir Shaivism. She completed her 200-hour yoga certification in 2017 with the Kashmir Shaivism School of Yoga, hosted at Pure Gym Spa Yoga in Granada, Nicaragua. Her training is rooted in the ancient science of yoga, philosophy, and meditation, drawing from the tantric teachings of Kashmir Shaivism—a path that invites us to live life in totality, with presence and awareness.

She has taught and practiced yoga in diverse spaces, including Pure Gym Spa Yoga in Nicaragua and the Springwater Center in New York.

What Cristiana loves most about yoga is its ability to meet you exactly where you are—offering a practice that evolves with you and gently guides you back to yourself.

Cristiana currently teaches Hatha Yoga at Yoga in Granada. In her classes, Cristiana weaves together breathwork, alignment, and conscious movement to prepare the body and mind to find awareness in each moment of the day.

Víctor
Ashtanga & Hatha

Víctor is an Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga instructor, a teacher at Buen Karma Yoga, and a guest teacher in Granada. He has over a decade of personal practice and has been sharing yoga since 2020.

In 2024–2025, Víctor deepened his studies in the Ashtanga tradition in Mysore, India, under the guidance of Rakesh Jain, an Ashtanga teacher authorized by Sharath Jois (qpd). During this time, he expanded his practice and understanding of the Primary Series, Yoga Chikitsa, renowned for its therapeutic, purifying, and healing effects on both body and mind.

Drawing from his training and experience, Víctor guides classes that integrate conscious breathing, fluid movement, and precise alignment, offering an accessible and supportive practice for students of all levels. His teaching is committed to the process of liberation and the awakening of consciousness through the consistent practice of Vinyasa Yoga.

Marlon
Hatha & Restorative

Marlon is a yoga teacher from Granada, Nicaragua. His yoga journey began after a serious back injury involving two damaged discs. Faced with the possibility of surgery, Marlon chose rehabilitation and eventually discovered yoga as a path to healing. What started as physical recovery became an every day practice that transformed his body, mind, and outlook on life.

In spring 2026, Marlon completed his 400-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Mandir in Costa Rica, where he studied yoga philosophy and classical traditions including Ashtanga and Iyengar. He is also a certified Thai Massage practitioner, trained in both the classical methods of Asokananda and Pichet and the dynamic approach of Chaiyuth.

Today, Marlon teaches with a calm, welcoming approach, creating classes that help students build strength, move with awareness, and experience the transformative power of yoga - on and off the mat.

Mercedes
Hatha

Mercedes is a Nicaraguan yoga instructor from the indigenous pottery village of San Juan de Oriente, a community renowned for its rich artistic heritage and deep cultural traditions.

Her journey into yoga began while working with Nica Life, where she attended weekly yoga classes offered through the company's social program. Inspired by the practice and its positive impact, she began sharing simple yoga exercises with the schoolchildren she was teaching at the time.

In spring 2026, Mercedes completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Buen Karma in Nicaragua. During her training, she developed a special appreciation for the Hatha Sivananda tradition, valuing its emphasis on mindful movement, conscious breathing, balance, and the lasting benefits of a consistent practice.

Since May 2026, Mercedes has been teaching weekend classes at the studio. Her classes are especially welcoming for beginners and anyone looking for a calm, accessible practice.

Xiomara
Hatha

Xiomara is a Nicaraguan yoga instructor dedicated to sharing the transformative practice of yoga through authenticity and service.

In spring 2026, Xiomara completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Buen Karma in Nicaragua, where she immersed herself in yoga philosophy and explored both traditional lineages, including Sivananda and Ashtanga, as well as contemporary approaches such as Jivamukti and Yoga Rahasya.

Deeply committed to giving back to her community, Xiomara has been volunteering as a yoga teacher with Yoga in Granada since March 2026.

Through her classes, she creates welcoming spaces that support well-being, meaningful connection, and personal growth for the Granada community.
